(Jalisco, Mexico, 1915-2006). Painter, muralist and engraver, he belonged to the second generation of Mexican muralists. He was founder and member of the movement "Jóvenes Pintores Jaliscienses", and founding member of the "Taller de la Gráfica Popular", where he made engravings and lithographs with the basic idea of solidarity with the workers and peasants. An important part of his work has been the almost hundred of notes taken in oils, tempests and lithographs, at an expedition organized in 1949 by the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) to Bonampak. He was one of the main representatives of the social-realist tendency that illuminated the Mexican horizon for decades and had such an influence in Latin America.
